Welcome to Trezor.io/start, your trusted destination for setting up the Trezor Hardware Wallet. Whether you’ve purchased a Trezor Model One or the advanced Trezor Model T, this guide will walk you through the official and secure setup process.
By following the steps on Trezor.io/start, you ensure that your wallet is initialized safely using verified software directly from Trezor, protecting your assets from scams, phishing, and fake applications.
Manually type Trezor.io/start into your browser’s address bar. This step ensures you’re on the official website and not a malicious copy designed to steal your crypto.
Click on the Download Trezor Suite button. This is the official desktop software that allows you to manage your Trezor Wallet. It’s available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. With Trezor Suite, you can buy, exchange, send, and receive crypto safely and easily.
Use the USB cable provided with your Trezor Hardware Wallet to connect it to your computer. Open Trezor Suite, and it will automatically recognize your device. Follow the on-screen setup instructions to continue.
You can either create a new wallet or recover an existing wallet using your recovery seed. Follow the guided prompts carefully on your device screen.
Your device will show a 12-, 18-, or 24-word recovery seed. Write down these words in order and store them safely offline. ⚠️ Never save your recovery seed on your phone or computer. It’s the only way to restore your Trezor Wallet if your device is lost or reset.
Choose a strong PIN on your device. This PIN helps secure your Trezor Hardware Wallet against unauthorized access.
Once your setup is complete, open Trezor Suite to access your Trezor Wallet. You can send and receive crypto, view your portfolio, and track your transactions—all with your private keys safely stored offline.
